El Museo del Escritor: (The Writer's Museum) 5,000 objects and documents from 230 Spanish-language authors

In the heart of Madrid, in the Chamberí neighborhood, there is a unique space in the world that few people still know about, especially if we think about the cultural importance of its collection.

We are talking about ‘El Museo del Escritor’ (The Writer's Museum) which, dedicated to the preservation of the literary memory in the Spanish language, treasures more than 5,000 personal objects and documents of its greatest authors.

The Museo del Escritor is unique in Spain, and, due to its characteristics, it could be said to be unique in the world. In other countries there are some museums dedicated to writers or literature, but with a different point of view. The Museo del Escritor in Madrid contributes to the maintenance of the personal memory of Spanish-language authors and is focused not on literary works - since there are other institutions that deal with that aspect - but on the writers who created them and bequeathed us such a valuable cultural heritage.
