Violeta Lópiz (Ibiza), Spanish National Illustration Award 2025

The illustrator Violeta Fernández Lópiz from Ibiza has been awarded the Spanish National Illustration Award, corresponding to the year 2025, at the proposal of the jury that met today.

The jury has valued the illustrator for “her great creativity, atmospheric and enveloping style, of clear poetic evocation and for making each project a new exploration of artistic expression and unique visual aesthetics”.

The jury also noted that Violeta Lópiz "enhances the language of the illustrated album through a game in which she seeks to exploit the plastic, graphic and narrative resources to use them as tools. Each of Lópiz's works offers a new universe with which, through a simple, clear and delicate structure, she allows us to touch other worlds with our own hands".

The Spanish Ministry of Culture awards this prize to recognize and distinguish the work of a Spanish illustrator in the field of books and literature in any of Spain's official languages. The prize is endowed with 30,000 euros.
