The writer born in Huesca, Marta Giménez Martínez, has won the XLII Carmen Conde Poetry Prize, organized by the publishing house Torremozas, with her book of poems ‘El método Sherezade.’
Marta Giménez Martínez was born in Huesca in 1977 and currently lives in Tenerife. She has been a dinghy sailing and dance teacher. She has previously won the Lasarte-Oria Prize in 2020 and the Accésit in the Antonio Machado Train Awards for Short Stories 2022. She has published the book of poems, ‘La latitud irreparable,’ which was the winner of the Government of the Canary Islands competition for the poetry collection Natalia Sosa Ayala in 2022.
The Jury of the XLII edition of the Carmen Conde Poetry Prize, which was composed of María del Pilar Palomo, Professor Emeritus of Literature at the Complutense University; José Manuel Lucía Megías, Professor of Romance Philology at the Complutense University and Marta Porpetta, editor, reached their decision unanimously.
