On June 4, the Bibliodiversity Awards 2025 were presented by Editores de Madrid to institutions, media and personalities who, through their efforts, support the work of small publishers and bibliodiverse publishing.
The Cecilio Rodríguez Gardens Pavilion hosted the event, which was presented by José Luis del Río, coordinator of the Small Publishers Commission of the Madrid Publishers Association (AEM). In his welcoming remarks, José Luis del Río defined bibliodiversity as a resistance to cultural homogenization, to the market that prioritizes figures over meaning, to the algorithms that always push us towards the same thing, and to these awards as, precisely, a tribute to the diversity of voices, styles, themes and formats that make publishing a deeply human and transformative act.
