Many of the books published this month will arrive in time to be on the stands of the Madrid Fair, which closes on June 15.
From the thriller with the disappearance of a writer at its core ‘La extinción de Irina Rey,’ by Jennifer Croft, to the family saga mystery that Berna González Harbour builds in ‘Que fue de los Lighthouse.’ The past resonates in two stories of women who suffered the Nazi horror: Charlotte Delbo in ‘La medida de nuestros días’ and Melpo Axioti in ‘République-Bastille.’
And there is no lack of fiction novels that offer clues about the present: this applies to the novel ‘Lo único que importa es el verano,’ by Francesco Pecoraro, which takes place at the G8 summit in Genoa, and also to the novel ‘Springfield,’ by the Russian writer Sergey Davydov, who has had to go into exile, for the essay ‘El patio de los mayores.’ Also Pol Morillas, writes in his essay on the future of Europe in its current geopolitical reality under construction.
