Science fiction is a fascinating literary genre that has its origins in ancient myths. Although for most authors -especially Anglo-Saxon authors- the trope, as it is known today,

began with the publication of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and The Modern Prometheus, it is understood that something similar existed in earlier times, as in the case of Daedalus, in Greek mythology.

However, it was in 1920 that science fiction really began to make waves in the United States and other countries around the world. In fact, the term “science fiction”, coined by Hugo Gernsback in 1926, is what gave rise to a real installation of this type of literature in popular culture.
