illustrated by Cristina Agenjo and aimed at readers aged twelve and up, was published.
readers aged twelve and up, was published.
‘Los perros duros no bailan’ is a short novel with entirely four-legged characters that Pérez-Reverte published six years ago. It was not the first one dedicated to these animals, as in 2014 he brought out ‘Perros e hijos de perra,’ a compilation of articles from his weekly space ‘Patente de Corso,’ written between 1993 and 2014 about these animals, and illustrated by the painter Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau.
This new edition features the vivid and very cinematic illustrations of Madrid-born Cristina Agenjo. At the time Pérez-Reverte commented that he had written this book in a month and had dedicated it to the dogs he has owned. It was a special subject for him, and the resulting story is short and well-rounded.
