The writer Arturo Pérez-Reverte announces a new installment of Capitán Alatriste 14 years later.

'Misión en Paris', to be published on September 3, is the title of the book with which the adventures of the popular character continue.

The writer Arturo Pérez-Reverte (Cartagena, 73 years old) announced this Monday through his social networks, that on September 3 a new book starring Capitán Alatriste, his popular character, will be out in the market. A brief come back was the writer's message, accompanied by a video with images of the film Alatriste, the 2006 film adaptation, starring Viggo Mortensen and directed by Agustín Díaz Yanes.

Shortly after, he posted another tweet, now three and a half minutes long, with his own statements and the editorial director of Alfaguara, Pilar Reyes, who announced that the Musketeers will be part of the plot of the novel.

This will be the eighth installment starring the soldier Diego Alatriste y Tenorio, a swordsman for hire and old soldier of the Spanish tercios, although with a particular code of honor and whose adventures are set in the first half of the 17th century.  According to the announcement made in a press release by the publisher Alfaguara, ‘Misión en Paris’ will also serve to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the saga, which began with ‘El capitán Alatriste’ (1996) and will arrive 14 years after the last novel in the series, ‘El Puente de los asesinos.’ Between these two titles ‘Limpieza de sangre’ (1997), ‘El sol de Breda’ (1998), ‘El oro del rey’ (2000), ‘El caballero del jubón amarillo (2003), and ‘Los corsarios de Levante’ (2006) were published.
