The XXX Fernando Lara Novel Prize has reached a new record of participation with 1,116 works submitted in the 2025 edition.
This edition has far exceeded the participation of previous years, largely thanks to the possibility, since 2022 of submitting works in digital format.
Thus, the number of manuscripts received practically doubles that of the previous edition, which had 565 works, with an endowment of 120,000 euros, in addition to the publication of the winning work by the publishing house Planeta.
Of these 1,116 works, slightly more than half (564) were submitted from Spain, while 290 were sent from South America and 94 from North America, the same number of works sent without specifying their origin. From the rest of Europe 37 novels have been submitted, 33 from Central America, three from Asia and one from Australia, according to Grupo Planeta.
