Book Presentation Event 'Ayer tuve un sueño" by Spanish author Belén Carreño

The thrilling story of the music executive who took Spanish-language music to the top of the charts.

The story of Manolo Díaz (Oviedo, 1941) is the story of Spanish-language music over the past sixty years. A composer, singer-songwriter, producer, and top executive of various record labels, he took Julio Iglesias by the hand, invited us to the south with Raffaella Carrà, and introduced us to great artists and groups, from Los Bravos to Carlos Vives and Juanes.

Ayer tuve un sueño, halfway between a memoir and a chronicle of the birth, rise, and ups and downs of the multi-million-dollar music industry, is also a detailed explanation of how stars are (truly) created. Accompanying Manolo Díaz, we will witness the awakening of pop in a black-and-white Spain, the Movida, the golden years of music television, and the flourishing and reign of Latin rhythms in the United States.
