Inma Rubiales, the new queen of young adult romance novels: There is a prejudice towards what young people like, especially girls.

The new revelation of young adult literature accumulated thousands of fans at her Book Day signings, just after launching her new novel, 'Nuestro lugar en el mundo.'

After the Sant Jordi hangover, 23-year-old Inma Rubiales, from Extremadura, remembers the "madness" that was Book Day. For two hours she managed a queue full of young people, which made her realize the magnitude of the phenomenon that surrounds her. Seven published books and a community of readers have established her as the new revelation in young adult romance literature.

Authors such as Alice Kellen, Megan Maxwell, Elisabet Benavent and Blue Jeans preceded her, but Inma prefers not to be pigeonholed as anyone's successor. She comments that there always seems to be competition among writers in this genre, but the reality is that everyone is grateful that there are more writers ‘because it is totally impossible for me or any writer to be able to produce the number of books that people demand per year’.
