Venezuelan writer and scientist Jesús Alberto León dies at the age of 84

Venezuelan writer, biologist and mathematician Jesús Alberto León, author of works such as 'Desvestiduras' and 'Secreta inquietud,' died at his residence in Caracas on Saturday, May 3, at the age of 84, due to health issues.

Born on October 19, 1940, in La Victoria, Aragua, León moved to Caracas to finish high school, a stage in which he showed his interest in literature and philosophy. He would later study Biology and Mathematics at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) and would do a PhD at the University of Sussex, England, where he received his doctorate in 1976 together with his wife, Dr. Aragua Cedeño, also a notable scientist and university professor.
