An Azorín Prize so that the message of peace doesn't sound strange

The award, organized by Planeta and the Alicante Provincial Council, recognizes Rosario Raro's historical narrative, set in southern Africa and focused on ending armed conflicts.

When Rosario Raro (Segorbe, 1971) submitted her entry for the Azorín Prize for Novels, she was clear about her pseudonym: "Kintsugi," an ancient Japanese technique for repairing ceramic objects that involves highlighting cracks with gold or other precious materials instead of hiding them. "That's what my characters are like," she concludes. "The scars mean the pain is over," confesses the author of 'La novia de la paz' (Planeta).
