The publishing house Alfaguara, part of Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, has opened the call for entries for the XIX Alfaguara Novel Prize, corresponding to 2026
The Alfaguara Novel Prize has established itself as a benchmark for quality literary awards given to an unpublished work written in Spanish. According to the call for entries for this year's edition, the deadline for receipt of original works is October 31, 2025, and the prize will be awarded at the end of January of the following year.
The prize is open to all writers (of legal age) who so wish, whatever their nationality or origin, as long as the works they submit conform to the commonly accepted concept of novel, are written in Spanish, are original, and have never been published before. The author must have full and free disposal of all exploitation rights over the work in any form and different modalities and have not been previously awarded in any other contest, are not pending the decision of any other contest, nor correspond to authors who died prior to the submission of the work.
