The number of books registered with ISBN in Spain in 2024 was 89,347, of which 59,937 were on paper, 67.1% of the total, and 29,410 on other media, representing the remaining 32.9%. This increases the number of books registered in 2024 by 2.6% over the previous year, reaching a figure like that obtained in 2019, the year prior to the COVID-19 crisis.
With respect to the publication format, it is books in other media, mainly digital books, which register the highest increase compared to the previous year, with a rise of 8.5%. Thus, while in 2023 the number of books registered in other formats was 27,110, in 2024 there were 29,410.
