Today, April 9th, the poster for the 84th edition of the Madrid Book Fair, which will be held from May 30th to June 15th, 2025, was presented.
Argentine artist Coni Curi, the creator of the poster, sought to symbolically capture the connection between Madrid and New York, a theme that will underpin this year's Fair.
The image shows the Bear of Madrid—a reference to the symbol of the Spanish capital—gazing, half-surprised and half-dreamy, at the illuminated New York skyline, with recognizable skyscrapers under a starry sky. The contrast between the urban and the natural, between the monumental scale and the tenderness inspired by the character, encapsulates the emotional and cultural bridge proposed by the 84th edition of the Madrid Book Fair. Featuring the Argentine artist's signature color palette of earth tones, brick, and mustard, combined with vintage touches, the poster pays homage to mid-20th-century American graphic design while connecting with contemporary sensibility.
