The Ministry of Culture presents the official poster for World Book Day 2025

The work is by Pep Montserrat, winner of the 2024 National Illustration Prize. It is inspired by a quote by Álvaro Pombo, the latest winner of the Cervantes Prize: To read is to understand.

It will be the image of the program of book-related activities that will take place during "Cervantes Week," which will begin next Monday, April 21st, and whose central event will be the presentation of the Cervantes Prize.

The Ministry of Culture, through the General Directorate of Books, Comics, and Reading, has today published the commemorative poster for World Book and Copyright Day 2025, which will be celebrated on April 23rd. This edition was created by illustrator Pep Montserrat, who won the 2024 National Illustration Award for his "great ability to construct meanings that go beyond simple visual displays with a distinctive and recognizable voice."

As usual, this poster illustrates a quote from the latest winner of the Miguel de Cervantes Prize for Literature in Spanish, awarded by the Ministry of Culture. In 2024, it was Álvaro Pombo, whose quote was chosen to inspire the design: To read is to understand. The act of reading is understanding. To read and understand is to live.
