Legacy of writer Juan Gil-Albert arrives at the Cervantes Institute's Caja de las Letras

A pair of glasses, several handwritten poems, and copies of the magazine Canelobre—one of them from 1996 dedicated to the author himself, published by the Instituto Alicantino de Cultura are part of

the legacy in memoriam of the Spanish poet and essayist Juan Gil-Albert , (Alcoy, 1904; Valencia, 1994).

which entered the Caja de las Letras of the Cervantes Institute on Tuesday, April 1st, coinciding with the author's 121st birthday.

The legacy was deposited in box 1,601 of the Cervantes Institute's vault at its headquarters in Madrid. The handwritten poems introduced are "Epitalamio a la hermana," dated 1935; “Despedida de un año”, dated 1936, and “Mi nostalgia, homenaje a Játiva”, from 1964, all donated by his great-niece, Claudia Simón Aura. Commemorative postcards and a photograph of the poet are also included.
