At the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports, the Spanish Government approved at the Council of Ministers last Tuesday the distribution of €58,559,610 to the various Autonomous Communities
Communities for textbooks and teaching materials. In addition to these funds, €1.4 million is allocated to this program in the cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
In 2018, this program had €48.5 million in funding, and in 2022 it was increased to the current €58.5 million. In total, the Ministry has invested €380 million in this aid.
The goal is to help families acquire textbooks and teaching materials in all formats, including digital formats, to compensate for the most disadvantaged socioeconomic situations, and to contribute to the education system guaranteeing equity in education and equal rights and opportunities.
