The 47th Madrid Antiquarian and Used Book Fair will take place from May 1st to 18th on Paseo de Recoletos, and with the arrival of spring, the Madrid Association of Second-Hand Booksellers has unveiled the commemorative poster.
The work of Teresa Valero, an illustrator and screenwriter originally from Madrid, shows the connection between two women: one from the past and one from the present. This connection is established through the reading of an antique book by the Sevillian poet Antonio Machado, who commemorates the 150th anniversary of his birth this year.
Valero's design is presented as "a bridge that connects the past with the present through the reading of a work by Antonio Machado that unites two women. One of them, almost a century old, reads the book in a sorrowful setting while the poet writes behind her."
