Entries are now open for the 19th Antonio Gala International Poetry Prize

World Poetry Day, the Culture Department of the Alhaurín el Grande City Council announced the rules for the 19th Antonio Gala International Poetry Prize,

an award that pays tribute to the art of words and the literary legacy of the illustrious writer Antonio Gala, an adopted son of the municipality.

An international competition aimed at young authors between the ages of 18 and 35, more than 170 participated last year. This established event has become a global gateway to poetic creativity and seeks to recognize and celebrate excellence in the field of poetry, promoting emerging talent in this literary genre.

This competition offers a prize of 6,000 euros, as well as a commemorative sculpture honoring Antonio Gala. This prize will be presented at an official event at the Antonio Gala House Museum in Alhaurín el Grande in June. The winning collection of poems will be published in a printed edition of 300 copies, of which 50 will be given to the winner for personal distribution.
