Hispacómic, the Seville Comic Fair, begins today, highlighting Iberian comics

Both Spain and Portugal are considered two of the major international comic book powers, with authors working in all the major world markets, primarily in North America and the Franco-Belgian region.

However, in both countries, the publishing industry has failed to adequately exploit this creative potential, and both have markets dominated by the publication of foreign materials. Hispacómic was born in response to this reality. From today until Monday, March 17th, National Comic Book Day in Spain, it celebrates its 2nd edition at the Royal Artillery Factory in Seville.

At these events, Hispacomic aims to "reflect and enhance the cultural diversity of the Iberian Peninsula and its languages, reflecting and enhancing a growing market and emphasizing the publishing opportunities that this diversity can bring to our market, our industry, and also the international reach of the rights to these works."
