Ebiblio, the e-book lending platform promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Culture through the General Directorate of Books, Comics, and Reading in collaboration with the Autonomous Communities,
has seen increases in all its indicators last year: number of titles (14%), number of licenses (6%), users (18%), and loans (15%).
Specifically, as of December 31st, 2024, eBiblio offered users a collection of 58,552 different titles in Spanish, other co-official languages, and foreign languages. E-books, compared to other types of documents such as magazines or audiobooks, continue to be the most borrowed, representing almost half of all loans.
In total, eBiblio was used by 209,045 users in 2024 (37,186 more than in 2023).
A total of 4,113,814 loans were made, increasing across all document types, especially magazines (18%), but also e-books (13%), audiobooks (16%), and newspapers (16%).
