El País talks with Spanish editor David Remartínez

The Zaragozan publishes Así se escribir un libro (This is how a book is written) (Arpa), a manual for beginner writers, but also an x-ray of the machinery of the publishing industry.

David Remartínez (Zaragoza, 54 years old) is one of those editors who sit down with a pile of papers, review the structure of the text, mull over the concepts, take care of the style and are on the lookout for mistakes. One of those who guide authors through the dark paths of creation.

He publishes Así se escribir un libro (This is how a book is written) (Arpa): a manual for beginner writers (but also an x-ray of the machinery of an industry) according to the method of the Arpa publishing house, which goes from the conception of the  idea to communication and sales. Remartínez is also a journalist and author of books such as Una historia pop de los vampiros (Arpa) or El gabinismo contado a nuestros hijos (Trea). He knows the business from both sides.
