Estandarte magazine remembers María Pascual, the most famous illustrator of children stories

She achieved great popularity for the delicacy, beauty and simplicity of her drawings.

María Pascual Alberich (Barcelona, ??1933-2011) is surely one of the first female names who dedicated herself to illustration and comics and acquired a recognition and prestige unknown until then. Her immense legacy spans from the mid-1950s to almost the present day.

Without a doubt, many readers, although they are perhaps more female readers and all of a certain age already, keep a story, comic, women's magazine, die-cut book or hardcover compilation volume, or a doll cutout in particular with some of her beautiful and characteristic illustrations.
