Every year, the National Library of Spain receives generous contributions from donors, both individuals and institutions,
which contribute to the growth and updating of our collections and ensure the conservation and dissemination of pieces of singular value from the Spanish bibliographic and documentary heritage.
2024 has been a good year in terms of donations: 82,628 copies have been received – 31% more than in 2023 – for a value of 461,275 euros, according to estimates by BNE technicians.
The number of donations processed has been 414, with a total of 432 donors. The origin of the donations is distributed as follows: 44 from Spanish public bodies, 166 from foreign donors and 222 from Spanish donors or donors residing in Spain.
