As a result of the ongoing work of reading and evaluating the publishing offer in Spanish for children and young adults carried out by the Cuatrogatos Foundation, this year, for the twelfth time,
the Cuatrogatos Foundtion Award has been given away. This award recognizes 20 outstanding titles by Ibero-American creators, published by publishers from any country, based on their literary and visual values.
The selection, made by a group of professionals linked to the foundation, took into consideration 1,395 publications from 208 publishers from 18 countries. Self-published books with their ISBN were also included in the sample.
The graphic image that identifies this year's 2025 award was created by the prominent Spanish illustrator Carla Novillo.
The 20 winning works, which include picture books, poetry collections, short stories, novels and comics, were published by publishers in six countries: Argentina (Lecturita, Libros Silvestres, Loqueleo, Norma and Periplo Ediciones), Chile (Ediciones Ekaré Sur), Colombia (Tragaluz editores), Spain (Anaya, Akiara Books, bookolia, Edelvives, Ediciones SM, Iglú, Sallybooks and Triqueta Editora), Mexico (Ediciones Castillo, Ediciones El Naranjo and Leetra) and Uruguay (Alfaguara).
