The books by Gemma Ruiz, Dolores Redondo and Isabel Allende, among the most borrowed titles in Barcelona libraries.

The novel 'Les nostres mares' by Gemma Ruiz has been the most borrowed book in the Xarxa de Biblioteques Municipals de Barcelona during the year 2024.

It is followed by 'Esperando al diluvio' by Dolores Redondo and 'El viento conoce mi nombre' by Isabel Allende. In the ranking of most requested novels for adults, the authors Carmen Mola, Sonsoles Ónega and Javier Castillo, among others, also appear.

Among the 12 most borrowed books, only four are in Catalan: Gemma Ruiz's, 'Les Calces al sol' by Regina Rodríguez Sirvent, 'Canto jo i la muntanya' by Irene Solà, and 'Hamnet' by Maggie O'Farrell, translated by Marc Rubió.

The most borrowed titles in the digital library largely coincide with those in the first category, with Mola's 'El inferno', Castillo's 'El cuco de cristal', and 'Les Calces al sol' appearing again. Juan Gómez Jurado appears twice, with 'Reina roja' and 'Rey blanco'. As for foreign novels (in the original language), the most borrowed titles are 'Normal People' by Sally Rooney, 'Hamnet', and 'The Midnight library' by Matt Haig.
