Álvaro Espina concludes his trilogy on the life of Cervantes with 'Cerbantes. El combate de las letras' (Cervantes. The Combat of Letters).

The trilogy, which is made up of four sections and a fifth that presents seven letters from Miguel de Cervantes addressed to the imaginary Ahmad Ibn al-ayyi between the years 1611 and 1616

an ingenious creation by the author that reflects his taste for the fusion of reality and fiction—comes to a true gift for literature lovers. This is due, in part, to the fact that in its pages we witness the emergence of Don Quixote.

The ninety-four pages of endnotes collect everything narrated in the novel, as well as the real events that are mentioned. This document is a testimony of the almost half century during which Álvaro Espina has investigated, to a greater or lesser degree, the life and work of such a prominent author.
