Call for entries: VI Mario Vargas Llosa Biennial Novel Prize

Open until May 15th, 2025. Prize endowed with 100,000 USD The Vargas Llosa Biennial Novel Prize, which is awarded in Cáceres, is already accepting works.

The Vargas Llosa Chair is pleased to announce the opening of the call for entries for the VI Mario Vargas Llosa Biennial Novel Prize. The Prize, which will be held for the first time in Spain, in the city of Cáceres (Extremadura), is endowed with 100,000 dollars and aims to give a global boost to literature in the Spanish language.

Novels originally published in Spanish between January 1st, 2023, and December 31st, 2024, may participate. The Prize will be awarded during the VI Mario Vargas Llosa Novel Biennial, which will take place from October 22nd to 25th, 2025. The deadline for submitting works is May 15th, 2025.

The Prize is open to all works of fiction published between the established dates. Essays, short stories, memoirs, history, and criticism are excluded, as are graphic novels, comics, and children's literature.
