96% of Spanish writers and translators require 'express' authorization to use their works in AI development.

96 percent of Spanish writers and translators consider the “express” authorization of the author essential for the training of Artificial Intelligence models, according to a survey of the main associations of writers and translators in Spain.

According to the Asociación Colegial de Escritores de España (ACE), the associations have asked 9,000 writers and translators about the perception of the professionals of the authorial sector on the use of their works to train generative artificial intelligence (GAI) models. The associations that have promoted this survey are Asociación Colegial de Escritores de España (ACE), Associació de Escriptors en Lengua Catalana (AELC), Asociación Colegial de Escritores de Cataluña (ACEC), Asociación de Escritores en Lengua Galega (AELG), Asociación de Autores Científico-Técnicos y Académicos (ACTA).
