When we talk about “famous books” we mean those volumes that have been read by a vast number of people, having an impact on popular culture and collective memory

This fact alone does not make the works on this list intrinsically of good quality, but simply makes them products whose marketing has been very effective.

Nevertheless, it may happen that a famous book is, at the same time, a work of art.
