On this occasion, unpublished works in a) poetry, b) short stories and c) studies on Latinos in the United States will be eligible.
Entries must be submitted in accordance with the following rules:
RULES
1. Works may be submitted in Spanish. They will be considered unpublished if only half of the work was published.
2. In poetry and short stories, only Latin American authors, either born or naturalized, may participate.
3. Authors of any nationality may compete for the prize for studies on Latinos in the United States, as long as the book is in keeping with the theme of the contest.
4. No author may submit more than one book per genre, nor participate with work which is in the process of being printed, even if it is unpublished, or that has won a national or international award or opted for it while the Casa de las Americas Award has not been awarded. Nor may he/she participate in a genre in which he/she has already won this award in any of the five previous years.
5. A single and indivisible prize will be awarded for each genre, consisting of US$3,000 or its equivalent in the corresponding national currency, and the publication of the work by Casa de las Américas. Mentions will be granted if the jury deems them necessary, without any money awarded or editorial commitment on the part of Casa de las Américas.
6. The works must be signed with a pseudonym.
7. Casa de las Américas reserves the right to publish, both in print and digital format, what will be considered the first edition of the winning works. In the first case, the publication rights cover up to a maximum of 10,000 copies, even if it is a co-publication or co-published reprints. Such rights include not only the obvious economic aspects but also all the graphics and other characteristics of the first edition.
8. Works shall in no case exceed five hundred (500) pages (written in Times New Roman 12, and at one and half spaced).

10. Both the entry form and the pdf file of the entry should be sent, as attachments of the same message, to the following e-mail addresses: premiocasa@casa.cult.cu and premiocasa2025@gmail.com.
11. The deadline for entries will close on February 28, 2025, at midnight Havana time.
12. The awards will be announced on April 25, 2025.
13. Failure to comply with any of these rules would lead to the invalidation of the Award granted.
