The works of Manuel Chaves Nogales and Joaquín Álvarez Quintero are now in the public domain in the catalog of the Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE).

Every year the BNE publishes the list of works released on the eightieth anniversary of their author's death.

The journalist Eugenio Nadal and the playwright Joaquín Álvarez Quintero are among the 143 names on a list in which only four are women.

The work of Manuel Chaves Nogales is released from publishing rights in 2025. The name of the Andalusian journalist and storyteller stands out in the list that the Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE) publishes every year-end on its website with the list of creators who pass into the public domain. This time it is those who died in 1944 and whose works can be published, reproduced or circulated freely and publicly on the 80th anniversary of their death.

The 2025 list includes 143 names, among them writers, journalists, artists, musicians, but also scientists, historians, folklorists, professors and politicians. A list with only four women and in which Joaquín Álvarez Quintero and Eugenio Nadal also stand out. With the new year a selection of their works will be available, in open access and for free download, in the Biblioteca Digital Hispánica.
