Fernando Arrabal has won the Premio Zenda de Honor 2023-2024 Award. The jury has debated their decision with these words:
Fernando Arrabal is one of the strangest and skeptical creators of the last 70 years in the Spanish context.
His intense work ranges from theater to cinema, from aphorism to poetry, from narrative to epistolary genre, from painting to performance. He continues to be one of the most represented playwrights in the world. And he is a key figure in understanding literature (and its environs) as an exercise in radical freedom.”
