The prize, worth 8,000 euros, is awarded for the work ‘A critical theory of artificial intelligence’.
The philosopher from Bilbao, Daniel Innerarity has won the Eugenio Trías Essay Prize, in its third edition, for the work A critical theory of artificial intelligence, according to the Galaxia Gutenberg publishing house.
The jury, chaired by Victoria Camps, recognized it for being “an original and reliable contribution on a highly topical subject”, which avoids “catastrophic” positions and raises “the extent to which artificial intelligence conditions democracy and political decision-making, as well as communication”.
