The catalog is produced by the Internationale Jugendbibliothek (International Youth Library)

It is a catalog consisting of 216 titles (from 62 countries and written in 44 different languages) published recently and which, due to their characteristics (subject matter, artistic innovation, literary style, design...), deserve to be highlighted. The selection of the books, from among the thousands that the library receives each year, is made by 20 specialists in children and young adult literature.

This year's cover shows a white crow perched in a tent in the shape of a book. Inside, a young girl reads by the moonlight, all alone, sheltered and absorbed in her reading. This evocative image beautifully captures how special, unique and rewarding reading a book can be. It was created by Ximo Abadía, the illustrator of Khat: journal d'un réfugié (La Joie de lire, 2022), a book selected in the White Ravens 2023.
