On November 14, the Publishers of Madrid presented the XXVIII Antonio de Sancha Award to the writer Jordi Sierra i Fabra,
in recognition of “the quality and generosity of his extensive work, consisting of more than 565 titles published in different languages and with millions of readers all over the world.”
During the presentation of the Award, the president of the Madrid Publishers Association, Manuel González, referred to the painting Dickens' Dream, by Robert W. Buss, to highlight the prolific career of the award-winner, as well as his social commitment.
We tend to box him as a children and young adult author, but his creative capacity, his universe of characters and his narrative talent are exceptional. Jordi also shares Dickens' concern for the most vulnerable. He has dedicated his whole life to writing, to telling stories, to touching and helping the most disadvantaged.
