The Miami Dade College Miami Book Fair will celebrate its 41st edition from November 17-24 at the Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami.
The Ibero-American Authors Program offers meetings with more than 70 renowned writers from Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Spain, Portugal, Uruguay, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, Nicaragua and the United States to highlight the influence of Hispanic culture in South Florida.
On its opening day, November 17, the fair presents outstanding works to please lovers of reading in Spanish. Among them “Deséenme un buen viaje” (Planeta 2024), by Cuban author Gina Montaner, who will share her moving chronicle of her father, the late, prominent journalist Carlos Alberto Montaner, in an intimate conversation about the book. While Afro-Puerto Rican writer and poet Mayra Santos Febres presents “La otra Julia” (Vintage español, 2024), about Julia de Burgos García, born at the beginning of the 20th century, and considered the most exalted Puerto Rican poetess.
