Editorial Candaya celebrates 20 years building transatlantic bridges

'A way of living literature as almost no one practices it anymore'.

The turn from the 20th to the 21st century brought to Spanish publishing a great boost to independent publishing projects. An enormous variety of labels were born then, both generalist and specialized, and more than two decades later, in many cases by mere willfulness, burning the midnight oil and hitting the road, they have managed to consolidate themselves and transform the publishing scene, making it more plural, more daring and more attractive.

Among this sea of courageous labels Candaya stands out, which this past weekend blew out 20 candles, among friends, the so-called “Candaya Tribe,” of authors, publishers and readers, at their headquarters in Poble Sec, Barcelona.
