Paloma Sánchez Garnica, winner of the Planeta Prize 2024

Paloma Sánchez Garnica, a writer from Madrid, has reached one of the greatest achievements of her career by winning the Planeta 2024 Prize with her novel 'Victoria'; a novel of espionage and journalism.

The Planeta prize is the largest of all, endowed with one million euros.  She had already been a finalist in 2021 with “Últimos días en Berlin.”  This achievement places her as one of the most relevant and popular voices of contemporary narrative in Spanish.

Beatriz Serrano, writer and journalist for El País has been the 2024 finalist with the work “Fuego en la garganta,” which is endowed with 200,000 euros.

As in other years the results have not been free of controversy because of the choice of an already consolidated writer. The winning works will be published in November.
