Crime novel festival in Madrid. China will be the guest country

The 17th edition of the Madrid Crime Novel Festival, Getafe Negro, to be held from October 19 to 27, has China as its guest country.

The festival retakes the concept of the Silk Road to build bridges between these Asian and Mediterranean countries with the aim of bringing the public closer to a great unknown: the Chinese crime novel.

The spirit of Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Kie?lowski will be the European anchor of the festival on the thirtieth anniversary of the release of his film Red with which he culminated the famous Three Colors trilogy, a masterpiece devoted to fraternity as a common denominator.

It will be the spirit of this feature film, of communion and exchange, which will define the essence of this edition of Getafe Negro, which seeks to open new channels of communication with this Asian country. Ah Yi, He Jiahong, Na Duo and Jun Tian, masters of the current Chinese novel, will participate in several round tables of the festival, which will pay homage to the genre in the oriental country.
