The Creación Joven award went to Omar Castro for his project 'Habitación persona sola'.
Velaza (Tudela, Navarra, 1963) will get a prize of 30,000 euros, while Castro Villalobos (Lima, 1992) will receive 12,000 euros. Their works will be published by Visor. The award ceremony and the presentation of the books will take place in March 2025.
After the announcement of the jury's decision, Javier Velaza thanked the jury for the award and read some of the poems of his winning work. He confessed that for him this award has been 'a myth' since he started writing and explained that his book investigates the genetically ignorant condition of the human being.
