The opening ceremony of the 42nd edition of the Liber International Book Fair will take place next Monday, September 30th, at 7:00 p.m., at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona.
The event will be chaired by the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, accompanied by the Minister of Culture of the Generalitat, Sònia Hernández; the Mayor of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, David Quirós; the Councilor for Culture and Creative Industries of the Barcelona City Council, Xavier Marcè, the President of the Federation of Publishers' Guilds of Spain (FGEE) and of the Liber Organizing Committee, Daniel Fernández, and the General Director of Fira de Barcelona, ??Constantí Serrallonga.
After the speeches, the inaugural tour of the fair, which occupies Pavilion 2 of the Gran Via venue will begin. Liber, promoted by the Federation of Publishers' Guilds of Spain (FGEE), is the leading professional meeting for the Spanish book industry focused on export. This edition organized by Fira de Barcelona will take place from October 1st to 3rd, 2024 with nearly 250 exhibitors from 12 countries and the expectation of bringing together more than 7,000 professionals.
