Daniel Jerez was born on September 11, 1975, in Barcelona and says that, when he finished EGB and changed schools, he also made the deepest discovery of literature.
It was thanks to a Spanish Literature teacher, who instilled in him a passion for reading, for understanding texts and for getting to know authors in depth. Later he went to study Psychology and his passion for writing short stories was born, very influenced by Kafka, Poe, Sergi Pàmies and Quim Monzó.
Gradually his stories become longer and longer, and he wrote a first work halfway between a novel and a short story, “Al-iksir.” He published his first mystery novel in 2012, which was titled “El arcabucero n.º 61” and to which three more titles have been added: “La fórmula Terradas,” “El beso de la Muerte” and “El silencio de las ruinas.” This latest work, “El pasado nunca nos olvida,” is his first foray into the noir genre. In this interview he talks about it and many other topics. I take this opportunity to wish him a happy birthday and thank him for the time dedicated to this interview.
