The poet, critic, cultural manager, professor and writer Àlex Susanna has died at the age of 66, as reported this Saturday by the publishing house Edicions 62 and the Institut Ramon Llull.
Born in Barcelona on September 12, 1957, he was co-founder and co-director of the publishing house Columna (1985-99), as well as director of Culture at the Institut Ramon Llull (2002-04) and the Fundació Caixa Catalunya (2004-09).
At the beginning of this year, Susanna published his latest diary 'La dansa dels dies', which adds to his twenty publications, including 'Els dies antics' (1982), 'El darrer sol' (1985) and 'Palau d'hivern' (1987), which made him one of the most relevant authors of his generation. He won the Miquel de Palol prize for 'Memòria del cos', the Josep Pla prize for 'Quadern venecià' and the Carles Riba prize for 'Les anelles dels anys'.
