The writer from Palencia, Pablo del Río, has just published "Ocho Jueves," a thriller about various events that occur in the Picos de Europa.

Everything gets complicated when some mountaineers find a skeleton in a cave. The mystery is served, and the author will do nothing but complicate the plot with a series of unexpected twists and turns that will surprise the reader.

We meet the author in a café in Princesa Street, Madrid, and there I bombard him with questions about his new novel. The first is why crime writers choose the north of the peninsula for their plots. "For this type of novels, the south is not attractive. However, Navarre, Galicia, the Basque Country and the Cantabrian coast are settings that nature endowed with a special power, the fog, the cold, the rain... the rural areas are small towns - down south they are practically cities.
