Children and Young Adult Literature sustains the growth of Spain's publishing sector.

The Federation of Spanish Publishers' Guilds presented yesterday the Preview of the Report on Domestic and Foreign Book Trade in Spain 2023 at the headquarters of the Madrid Publishers' Association.

Speeches were given by Daniel Fernández, president of the FGEE and the Association of Spanish Book Chambers; Manuel González, vice president of the FGEE and president of the Madrid Publishers' Association; Óscar Chicharro, responsible for the analysis, and Antonio María Ávila, executive director of the FGEE and secretary of the Association of Spanish Book Chambers.

The Spanish publishing sector continued to grow in 2023 in line with the trend observed over the last three years. Thus, turnover reached 2,856.95 million euros, a figure that represents an increase of 5.1% over 2022. Analyzing this evolution, the sector has accumulated sales growth of 17.09 % after the pandemic and 30.1 % in the last 10 years. Between 2014 and 2019, the average revenue growth rate was 40.69 million euros per year, while between 2020 and 2023, the pace accelerated reaching an average of 139.01 million euros per year.
