The Catalan writer and editor Rosa Regàs died on Wednesday at the age of 90 at her home in the town of Llofriu (Girona).
Standing out for her diversity and depth, her literary career ranged from novels and essays to journalistic articles. Throughout her career she received several awards, including the Nadal in 1994 for 'Azul' and the Planeta Prize in 2001 for 'La canción de Dorotea'.
“Rosa Regàs used to say that there is nothing more bitter than uselessness. And, looking back, it is clear that the life of this writer, feminist and republican, was anything but bitter.
Our responsibility today is to collect her intellectual and moral legacy, 'lamented the Vice President of the Government Yolanda Diaz in X. The Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, also dedicated a few words to her:' The vital and literary legacy of Rosa Regàs is an example of irony, intellectual audacity and commitment to society. A great writer leaves us, the free voice of so many women in times of silence, admired for her integrity in her convictions. Farewell'.
