Fernando Benzo and José Manuel Anta take over the new management of the Federation of Spanish Publishers' Guilds.

The Federation of Publishers' Guilds of Spain (FGEE) has decided to reorganize its management team to coincide with the departure of its executive director, Antonio Mª Ávila, who is retiring after 28 years with the organization.

The Board of Directors has decided to create two new management positions to provide the organization with a new management model. The new General Secretary will be Fernando Benzo and the new Manager will be José Manuel Anta.

A period of transfer of functions will now begin in which Ávila will continue to collaborate with the Federation. The new directors have the challenge of continuing and reinforcing the positioning of the publishing sector in both the domestic and foreign markets, as well as its relationship with institutions as the leading industry in the world of culture.

Antonio Mª Ávila has been at the helm of the FGEE since 1997. During these 28 years, he worked to defend the fixed book price, the creation of DILVE as a key tool for the commercialization of books and the strengthening of the foreign book trade. Together with Emiliano Martínez and Mauricio Santos, they supported reading promotion actions from the publishing sector.
